10 Steps To A Healthier You

We are in our first official week of 2016, I wanted to take a moment and spell out for you a heath plan that will give guaranteed results, boundless amounts of energy and vitality, offer significant weight loss and muscle building as well as kicking the habit of popping pills for your health.   I can promise you one thing - I have seen dramatic results with my own health and the thousands of patients whose lives have been transformed through Maximized Living and natural healing. May this be a year of blessings, abundance and health!

ELIMINATE ALL CARBONATED BEVERAGES
The following health conditions have been linked to the consumption of carbonated beverages:  Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Kidney Failure, Liver Damage, Osteoporosis and Acid Reflux.  Why?  These drinks are carbonated using Carbon Dioxide (which lowers the pH) and also include a vary powerful acid ingredient (phosphoric acid).   In addition, the sugar content is so high that you would naturally vomit the solution if the pH were not as low as it is (which is why they add phosphoric acid).   

Its time to kick the habit.  I promise you will see almost immediate results.  You can begin this by switching to clean sparkling water.  Yes it has the carbon dioxide but lacks the sugar and added phosphoric acid.  Over time you can change to other fizzy drinks like kombucha or kevita.  Eventually, as your bodies pH increases and your health changes you will find that flat water, green tea and even some coffee's are the best beverages on this planet!

INTERMITTENT FAST DAILY
Your body probably already has enough "fuel" on it to last much longer than the time between your current meals.  Cutting one or two meals per day offers the fastest ability for your body to become a lean, mean, fat burning machine!  Its best to restrict yourself to a 8 hour eating window with a 16 hour fasting window on a daily basis.  When timed properly, this isn't as hard as it sounds.  Simply sleep for the first 8, skip breakfast and replace it with water or green tea and eat for the 3rd set of 8 hours.  Repeat daily and watch the guaranteed results. 

GET ADJUSTED
Every organ in your body is connected to your nerve system (brain and spinal cord).  A recent study demonstrated that between 77 and 80 TRILLION individual nerve fibers pass through the small hole in your skull and first bones in your neck as they travel from the brain to every square inch of your body.  Adjustments to your spine, when done with the intent of opening restrictions in nerve flow (as opposed to just blocking pain) are the best and most essential for your optimum performance and health.  If you have never been adjusted - make 2016 a year to have your spine de-stressed!

EAT MORE FAT
The most recent research, and even mainstream media, is now admitting their mistakes.  Low fat is out, HIGH FAT IS IN!   Make sure they are healthy fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which you can get from plants and well fed animals.   I recommend anywhere from 60-85% of your diet overall should be from healthy fat sources: coconut products and oil, avocado and its oil, grass fed butter, nuts and their oils and grass fed/wild caught animal fats.     The days of shunning butter are over - its time to have it on a stick!

ELIMINATE ALL GRAINS
Known as the "white devil" grains are composed of wheat, rice, oats and corn.  Grains contain an enormous amounts of inflammatory properties for the human body - with inflammation being linked to almost every disease known to mankind today - specifically brain disease and function.   Dr. David Perlmutter, MD authors "Grain Brain" and says "disease starts in your daily bread!"  Eliminating all grains is a massive step towards overall health and wellbeing.

ELEVATE YOUR VITAMIN D3
By now its no secret - Vitamin D3 boosts your immunity, reverses and prevents many cancers, diabetes and heart disease and has even been linked to balanced hormones and better sleep.  Before you ask how much to take, remember: DON'T GUESS, TEST! An annual vitamin D3 test needs to be part of your health regimen; just tell your doctor you want your  25(OH)D or 25-hydroxyvitamin D tested.  I suggest having a level of 80-100 ng/ml as that's the cancer fighting, disease reversing level. 

Dosages: 
80-100ng/ml | 5,000 IU daily to maintain
50-80 ng/ml | 10,000 IU daily for 90 days, then retest
<50 ng/ml | 15,000 IU daily for 90 days, then retest

CHANGE YOUR MEATS
This one will blow you health out of the water for 2016, and no I am not saying stop eating meats.   I'm simply asking you to switch them to only Grass fed for red meats, wild caught for seafood and free range for poultry.  Why?  All conventional animals in the US eat grains, which makes them just as fat and sick as we are!  So, to have your health turn around this year, start eating healthy animals - your health will love you for it!

WARNING: Watch out with poultry  - just being vegetarian fed and/or cage free doesn't cut it.  Corn/Rice/Soy/Wheat are vegetarian by definition (and inflammatory).  Cage free still means fenced in.  You want a chicken that's allowed to go get its own food and has no boundaries.  They are NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND in grocery stores.  You can get lucky and find a farm or grow your own or you can start to cut poultry all together and stick with grass fed red meats and wild caught fish.

MEDIATE/PRAY 10-15 MIN DAILY
Science has shown that meditation not only eliminates stress, but is the best for anxiety, worry, concern and depression.  AND, OF COURSE, we don't need science to tell us prayer works. Its also 100% free and can be done anytime and anywhere (except while driving)

REPAIR YOUR GUT
It's been estimated that up to 90% of Americans suffer for one form of digestive/gut issues - the largest being "Leaky Gut."  This doesn't mean you are leaking body fluids, but instead, leaking undigested proteins across the gut wall into your blood stream where they are seen as a foreign object (much like a virus, fungus or bacteria).  While this doesn't sound too bad, its one of the #1 reasons for auto-immune conditions like arthritis, psoriasis, lupus, thyroid and the many other thousands of auto-immune diseases.   The proteins that leak across are often from animal sources (the meats your are eating) and your body gets confused between the foods and your own tissues - so overtime, if not corrected, you can build an immune response against yourself and start attacking yourself!

How to Treat Your Colds and Viral Sore Throats

How Do I Catch a Cold?
The humble cold is the most common infectious disease in the U.S. It accounts for more absences from school and work than any other illness. It is the leading cause of patient visits to physicians. It is not easy to catch a cold. Your body's natural defenses usually fight off these viruses. There is a direct relation between your risk of catching a cold and the amount of time spent in contact with an infected person. That is why families tend to get sick together.

The most common route of infection is not from coughing or sneezing, or walking barefoot in the rain, but from hand-to-hand contact. That is why when you have a cold, washing your hands frequently is so important. The likelihood of you becoming a victim of the cold virus increases however, if you are overtired or physically exhausted. Children under two generally get 10-12 colds a year, especially if they are in daycare. Older children and young adults get about 6 colds per year. After the age of 30 the number starts to decrease to about two per year.

How Long Will It Last?
Most uncomplicated colds last between eight and nine days, but about 25% last two weeks, and 5-10% last three weeks.

What Should I Do for Treatment?
1. Get adjusted twice daily for the next 3-5 days then drop down to daily for a week.

2. Warm baths in Epsom salt with 2-4 drops of lavender and eucalyptus at least once per day

3. Soup, Broths, Herbal Teas does help the symptoms. Make the soup and broths hot and spicy with plenty of pepper. The spices will trigger a sudden release of watery fluids in the mouth, throat, and lungs. This will help thin down the respiratory mucus, so it's easier to cough up and expel.

4. Melaleuca Oil topically on side of throat and behind ears (mix with a little coconut oil)

5. Hydrogen Peroxide in ears and let bubble for 1-2 minutes

6. It will be very important to stop all milk products. This includes not only milk, but ice cream, all yogurts except plain, and especially cheese. Lactaid milk is NOT acceptable. This step is helpful to decrease the extra mucous that dairy products can cause you to produce.

7. Rest. It is important to rest and take it easy throughout the time you are ill. The time you are ill may be longer if you do not allow yourself to recuperate and recover completely. If you exercise regularly, you needn't stop. However, you should definitely cut back on the intensity until you feel better.

8. Wash your hands frequently and try to keep them away from your nose and eyes. Use disposable tissues as opposed to cloth handkerchiefs. If you are caring for a child with a cold, PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS every time you have to wipe their nose. This will protect you from being infected. Dove soap is the mildest soap that you can use for this purpose.

9. Drink plenty of fluids.
Water is the best. Try to drink at least eight to ten glasses a day. This will help the stuffiness and help the secretions loosen. Avoid using tap water, use bottled or filtered water to limit your exposure to chlorine. You can put lemon juice in your water or also try green tea as a water alternative

10. Supplements exist to improve nutritional status when diet or lifestyle changes aren’t feasible. Best supplements to take are Probiotics, Vitamin C (500-2,000mg every 1-2hrs), Vitamin D, Multivitamins, antiviral essential oils

11. Eating refined sugars weakens your immune system and promotes yeast overgrowth. This includes ALL non-diet pops which have eight teaspoons of sugar per can. Honey, molasses, maple syrup, date sugar, cane sugar, corn sugar, beet sugar, corn syrup, fructose, lactose, and other refined carbohydrates are known promoters of yeast growth. Ketone Bodies Feed Your Brain, Not Cancer

The brain needs glucose 24 hours a day to function. Since sugar feeds cancer, the brain is taking in sugar 24 hours a day and the cancer is being fed 24 hours per day. However, if you understand the brain, you will also know there is another FUEL the brain will use and prefers over sugar – it’s ketone bodies or keto acids. Ketones are what your body produces when it converts fat (as opposed to glucose) into energy.

I made the switch immediately to get my body in ketosis, so the only fuel my brain was getting was ketone bodies. Normal healthy brain cells use ketones for fuel but cancer cells (because their mitochondria is damaged) cannot use ketone bodies and the cancer begins to die. I still monitor my body to make sure my sugars are low and I am in ketosis.

Toxins Destroy the Brain

There are many toxins that can pass the blood brain barrier and affect the brain. You have to minimize your exposure to toxins immediately.

My favorite healthy fat I eat all day long is coconut oil. Coconut oil contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) and they are a great source of ketone bodies, since coconut oil is about 66 percent MCTs. Every meal and snack has to include lots of healthy fats as well as drinking a ketogenic shake 3-4 times per day. This is the easiest way to stay in ketosis and produce ketone bodies.

Alkaline water! Scam or Cancer Prevention?

The alkaline sales people will tell you that drinking alkaline water will prevent and reverse cancer (I used to believe that as well). Why? Because a majority of cancer patients are acidic, so if they're acidic, then creating an alkaline environment would reverse their cancer, right? Wrong!

1. Cancer cells will make their own acidity even in an alkaline environment.

2. Cancer cells are killed by ACID, this is why IV vitamin C (ascorbic acid) works so well.

3. Your stomach is ACID and drinking alkaline water does nothing but ALKALIZE your stomach creating hypochordia (low stomach acid) Acid in your stomach is essential to break down foods, kill parasites, kill H-pylori bacteria, prevent ulcers and help liver in methylation.
